DFA Electronic Passport

The Department of Foreign Affairs is making an alternative to respond the needs of the Filipino people who want to process their passport by providing the epassport service. ePassport service is a great help to lessen the burden of applicants.

I. DFA E-PASSPORT

APPOINTMENT SYSTEM BY INTERNET

(THIS SERVICE IS VALID ONLY IN DFA MANILA)

PROCEDURE

1. Qualified passport applicants may apply at the DFA ePassport Appointment System by visiting the website: www.dfa.gov.ph, click on the ePassport appointment icon and fill out the online request form and submit;

2. ePassport applicants applying for appointment must provide the following information in the online request form:

a. Full name of applicant (first name, middle name and surname)
b. Date of birth
c. Place of birth
d. Latest Passport Number and Date and Place of Issuance (For Renewal Only)
e. Valid personal e-mail address

3. The Applicant must wait for the confirmation of the proposed appointment within 5 days from date of request, and take note of the date, time and reference number that will be provided by DFA-Passport Office before proceeding to the DFA for the filing of the passport application. Unless the applicant confirms his or her schedule by replying to the email, the appointment process will not continue.

4. The Applicant must be at the DFA Passport Office (Window 28 at the DFA Processing Area for those with appointments) at the confirmed designated date and time for the filing of the passport application.

IMPORTANT:

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) wishes to remind the general public that applications for the new ePassport will be accepted starting 26 August 2009 on a first-come, first-served basis.

The following guidelines apply:

1. Only 100 ePassport applicants can be accommodated daily.

2. Interested applicants should set an on-line appointment through the DFA website http://www.dfa.gov.ph. Applicants are requested to fill up the required fields on the online appointment page at the DFA website; otherwise, the online appointment process will not proceed.

After internal verification, the DFA will inform prospective applicants of their schedule by electronic mail (email). Applicants will be asked to confirm their availability on the specified date.

3. ePassport requirements:

• Personal appearance
All applications during this period shall be filed by the applicant personally to the exclusion of third parties.
• No Photo is needed for ePassport applicants (Your photo shall be taken at the enrollment area)
• Old passport with one (1) photocopy of old passport data page (For Renewal)
• A valid identification card
• Duly accomplished passport application form
Applicants may use the current MRP application form for this purpose, which is also available in the DFA website
• Passport fee of P950

II. DFA MRP APPOINTMENT SYSTEM

MACHINE READABLE PASSPORT (MRP)

(THIS SERVICE IS VALID ONLY IN DFA MANILA)

Who Can Avail of the DFA MRP Appointment System. DFA Passport Appointment System is open to the following passport applicants:

a. New Applicants

b. Renewal

c. Senior Citizens (more than 60 years old)

(Lost passports and others not qualified can still avail of the Appointment System by Personal Appearance at the Gate 2 of the DFA, Pasay City.)

PROCEDURE:

1. Qualified passport applicants may avail of the DFA MRP Appointment System by visiting the website: www.dfa.gov.ph, click on the appointment icon and fill out the online request form and submit;

2. Passport applicants applying for appointment must provide the following information in the online request form:

a. Full name of applicant (first name, middle name and surname)

b. Date of birth

c. Place of birth

d. Latest Passport Number and Date of Issuance

e. Valid personal e-mail address

3. Applicant must wait for the confirmation of the proposed appointment within 7 days from date of request, and take note of the date, time and reference number that will be provided by DFA-Passport Office before proceeding to the DFA for the filing of the passport application.

4. Applicant must be at the DFA Passport Office (Special Area for those with appointments) at the confirmed designated date and time for the filing of the passport application.

I WANT TO RENEW MY PASSPORT FOR MAY 2012...I NEED THIS RENEWAL TO VISIT MY FRIEND IN AUSTRALIA..
I GOT A PROBLEM WITH MY YEAR OF BIRTH - WHAT REQUIREMNTS DO I NEED TO CORRECT MY YEAR OF BIRTH...I NEED TO CORRECT IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE COZ IT WAS TOO LATE TO NOTICE OF THE ERROR...THANKS...AM COMING HOME ON DEC. 2011...TO RENEW THRU ELECTRONIC PP. MANY THANKS.
